Sleeping outside by a lake or a swamp, with crickets and frogs isn’t normally people’s idea of fun, but these repetitive low level sounds. especially when you are listening to them in the warmth and comfort of your own bed, can be.

Not only is it relaxing, but it can also be a great help for those of us that have trouble sleeping. This is because, according to research, our brains perceive these rhythmic pulsating sounds as “naturally” non-threatening, so your mind and body can relax, rest, heal and rejuvenate.

The gentle and repetitive sound of night crickets and gentle sound water flowing allows us to rest our overstimulated brains at the end of a busy day. It induces a state of tranquillity found in few other natural sounds. It's like Mother Nature is saying to us: “Hey, don't worry, go to sleep, everything is fine”.
