Pro players have been keeping these seven tricks hidden from the public, but now they will be exposed. These tricks will make you 10 times better than the average player. The first trick involves protecting your artillery from cavalry or horse archers during a city attack. By placing towers backwards on top of the artillery crew, the towers will absorb the horse archers' arrows, preventing damage to the artillery. Just make sure to have one unit between the towers and the artillery for added protection.



The second trick is all about making your archers shoot faster and more efficiently. Instead of giving an attack order while moving sideways or backwards, give a movement order in the direction you want to shoot, and then give the attack order. This will make your archers instantly shoot the enemy unit, without wasting time repositioning.



The third trick is specific to Greek settlements. When breaking a wall with artillery, aim for a corner or a tower so that the stone will bounce off and hit both the wall and the tower. This allows you to break a wall and a tower with fewer shots, saving ammunition and increasing efficiency.



The fourth trick is to always put units on guard mode, not just archers and artillery, but also regular infantry and hoplites. This way, if an enemy unit tries to run away, your unit will automatically reform and throw a volley into their backs, resulting in easy kills. Additionally, when chasing a running unit, the individual soldiers that get caught will have zero melee defense, making them easy targets for further kills.



The fifth trick is about fighting on walls. Pro players never shoot units on the wall from the sides, as it is inefficient. Instead, they shoot from the absolute back or avoid shooting altogether. Shooting sideways on the wall results in 25% of the ammo hitting the wall and 25% missing completely. It's better to save ammunition for more effective shots.



The sixth trick is about fighting in the streets. Pro players use column formations, allowing units behind the front line to throw pila. They bait the enemy into overextending and then attack the overextending unit from the side, surrounding them. This tactic is effective and difficult to counter.



The seventh trick is selling out with half of your army during a siege. This confuses the attacking army and prevents them from getting non-shield side angles into the city. By going out with slingers and infantry to create a land battle during the siege, the attacking army is thrown off and can be easily countered. This tactic is especially effective if the attackers didn't bring a lot of cavalry.
