On March 17, 2023, 135 medical students at Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S) received life-changing news: the results of their residency match. Experience a taste of the joy among soon-to-be medical residents, on what happened to be the 70th anniversary of the National Residency Matching Program.

This year’s Match Day celebration was held at the Hudson Lounge at VP&S and featured remarks from Katrina Armstrong, MD, dean of VP&S; Monica Lypson, MD, vice dean for education at VP&S; and Lisa A. Mellman, MD, senior associate dean for student affairs at VP&S.
