North Yellowstone Camping, Carbella National Recreation Area

Our campsite for the North of Yellowstone was on the Yellowstone River about 16 miles north of the Gardner entrance to Yellowstone National Park.

We stayed in the Carbella National Recreation area, which had 16 marked campsites that were free. There is a camp host in one of those campsites, so 15 are open for anyone to enjoy, You do need to be in a numbered site. When we were there, work was being done on the boat ramp, so that area was closed.

While there is no kind of trash pickup at this campsite, there are vault toilets. It is quiet. Know that the earlier you get here, the better chance you have of getting a site.
