According to Fr. Constantine Sitaras, Director of St. Basil Academy and the Clergy Family Initiative, when a national Church has a structure that prioritizes unity and collaboration, it can practice more effective stewardship of resources, eliminating duplicative costs and calling in all members to nurture those ministries that affect us all.

Saint Basil Academy, home to young people from all parts of the US, is just one ministry that would benefit from such revisions to the GOA Charter, because it would have a "team of...hierarchs who would be able to throw their support in finding children, sending children, making referrals, and talking about it within their parishes and communities," says Fr. Sitaras. Assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the current Charter is also an opportunity to think dynamically about the future of our Church: How can we be better prepared to welcome and address the needs of all who seek it?

Rev. Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne Constantine Sitaras is the current Director of both Saint Basil Academy and the Clergy Family Initiative. Fr. Sitaras has worked extensively in GOA ministries as a member of the Archdiocesan Benefits Committee and as the Former Director of Ionian Village, Youth Ministries, and Stewardship Ministry, respectively.
