Aescape offers what it touts as “the world’s most advanced massage” featuring robotic arms and an experience users can control themselves. With 30-minute sessions starting at $60, the company hopes to make AI-powered therapeutic massages accessible to a wider audience.

Alexa Mikhail, health and wellness reporter at Fortune, went try the massage herself and speak with founder and CEO Eric Litman to learn more about the product and discuss the wider implications of automation and artificial intelligence for the health and wellness industry.

Aescape is launching at Equinox gym locations across New York City, with plans to expand across the country at hotels, gyms, spas, resorts, condominium buildings, as well as professional sports teams, physical therapy clinics, and more. The ultimate goal is to “democratize” more and more health services at price points that make sense for the everyday consumer.
