There are many challenges in measuring carbon, but new tools and methods are emerging to help us better understand and quantify forest carbon stocks and changes. These tools and methods are essential for developing effective policies and programs to mitigate climate change. During this session, we’ll hear from researchers and applied scientists who are applying Google Earth Engine and Earth Observation data to nature-based climate solutions from satellite-derived carbon stocks of forests and vegetation, to evaluations of carbon markets and carbon "leakage".
