Replacing the license plate lamp on a Toyota Prius (Gen3) is a straight forward process. For the price of a 194 lamp and a trim pry bar either or both lamps can be easily replaced. It just a matter of removing the access panel on the hatchback, turning counter-clock to remove the old lamp. Drop in the new lamp, turn clockwise, and replace the panel.
