Hey guys, today we are going to an ancient underground temple. But this Temple is not in India, it's in the country of Indonesia. Yes, I am driving in a small village called Sambisari in the country of Indonesia. Let's go take a look at this underground Temple and see what it has to offer.

Now, let me show you the Ancient Temple they found. And you can see that … that is the Ancient Temple and it's about 50 feet below the ground level of the village of Sambisari. This is the Ancient Temple called ‘Candi Sambisari’ and how old is this Temple? Archeologists say this Temple was built in the 9th century that means it is 1,200 years old. But locals say that this Temple could be 10 times older than this estimate. That means, this Temple could have been built 12,000 years ago. Let's go take a look and see what's inside!
There is a very interesting story: In the year 1966, that's about 50 years ago, a farmer who owned this piece of land was plowing the land and his plow got stuck in something. He tried his best to move the plow, but the plow did not even move an inch. He started digging and what he found inside was shocking. What did he find inside? He found something that looks just like this. He found something that looks like a lingam - with a cylinder on top and a base, a square base below it. Did he find a lingam, did his plow get stuck in a lingam? No, it was not a lingam. His plow was stuck on the top of the temple tower. As you can see, it looks just like a lingam, doesn't it? But his plow was stuck on the top of the temple tower. Soon the villagers started hearing about this and they started coming in hundreds. And they started to unearth this temple and this temple started to come out of the earth and the Indonesian government got wind of this. And they came in and said this is a National Treasure … this is an amazing ancient temple that belongs to the government and took this piece of land. Or at least, they wanted to take this piece of land from the farmer. The farmer did not want to give this piece of land to the government. Why? Because he said this was the land of Golden Yield, meaning he was able to cultivate rice three times a year. And, in this piece of land that was right above the temple, the crops were always growing three times any other piece of land. So, he was getting a triple yield, a Golden yield in this piece of land. in 1977, archeologists were still unearthing the temple and they found something groundbreaking. Archeologist found a plate made of pure gold and this plate had a strange inscription. This inscription only had three words written in Sanskrit. What did it say? Aum Shiva Sthana. Now, this means ‘Shiva's Sacred Home’. This is very rare in the history of Indonesia because inscriptions themselves are very rare in Indonesia. You normally do not see inscriptions and even if you do see inscriptions, you will only find inscriptions written on Stone. But this one was found on a golden plate and buried in the temple. Why were these words carved on a plate made of pure gold? And what is the meaning of this cryptic phrase: The Sacred Home of Lord Shiva ? Now let's go inside the main chamber of this temple and see what we can find.

This is amazing, there is definitely something strange about this lingam. Now as you can see this lingam is taller than me, it's probably about 6 feet tall.

Now, this lingam has multiple facets at the bottom and on top of this you can see this line. This line that goes like a wave, it goes like this and then it goes like this, it's a very interesting detail. Now, but.. whoa! What is that? What is that? Is that … is that gold? Is that … is that gold? Are we actually seeing traces of gold on this? Is this … traces of gold? Yeah, I would say this is … this looks like traces of gold. There's … there seems to be some traces of gold smeared on this lingam. I don't know if this is actually ancient or is this something new or if somebody just put something new here. But this definitely looks like a little bit of of gold here. Oh wait! there's more … you can see more traces of gold. I don't think this is something recent guys. I think … I think, oh here too! Oh here too, I can see more traces of gold. This is unbelievable. That means Once Upon a Time, ancient builders used powdered gold and covered this lingam with that powdered gold.
