It's Day 1 of our December Walt Disney World vacation... and the lesson for today (and for future days of the trip) is: don't be afraid to pivot!

When we first booked this trip and planned our days, the original idea was:
Leave Clearwater Beach early in the morning, get to Magic Kingdom a few hours after park opening, park hop at 2pm to Animal Kingdom, check into Caribbean Beach Resort, and then back over to Magic Kingdom to hang out with friends and watch fireworks.

You know what they say about the best laid plans though...

So instead, join us for our day, where we:
- start out in Clearwater, late morning, charging the car
- decide, on the drive to Orlando, to change our park pass reservation from MK to Animal Kingdom
- spend a lovely afternoon at Animal Kingdom
- check into Caribbean Beach Resort
- meet friends at a VERY BUSY Magic Kingdom
- almost immediately decide to peace out of there
- make our way over to Contemporary Resort for drinks & fireworks on the 4th floor balcony
- take the monorail over to the Polynesian Resort
- enjoy snacks & drinks at Tambu Lounge and Trader Sam's

Despite not doing exactly what we thought we would be doing, we actually had a really amazing day!

My name is Cate, and joining me is my husband James! We are from Toronto, Canada, where we live with our two cats, Manny and Tilly.
