Liberal MP Keith Wolahan says the South Australian government need to “listen to their own people” after the low voter turnout for a state-based Voice to Parliament.
Less than 10 per cent of eligible voters cast their ballot for the state’s historic First Nations Voice to Parliament election.
Mr Wolahan told Sky News host Erin Molan Australians sent a “clear message” at the federal Voice to Parliament referendum.
“A clear message was sent from Australians that that sort of decisive institution is not the way to go about it,” he said.
“So, I’m surprised that the South Australian government is pressing on.”
