If you are trying to register / change owner of a previously owned or previously registered Trane Smarthome / Nexia thermostat (XL824). You may realize the procedure ask for 6-digits code to be entered but that screen is missing from your thermostat. That's because the thermostat is still registered online to a Trane smarthome account. You have to de-register it first and this video will show you how.
