This year we finally got our root cellar cleared out and put into operation for 2020. This is also the first year we've grown a significant amount of food and we need to store it. During the cold storage season temperature is controlled by allowing cold air from the outside to flow down through tubing onto the floor and allowing the hot air to escape from a second tube near the ceiling of an opposite corner in the room. We built our system out of schedule 40 PVC tubing for toughness. This video documents the installation of our root cellar ventilation system.
