The Russian plane maker United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) intends to start Tupolev Tu-214 aircraft deliveries in 2024. Currently produced in limited quantities for the government and military, UAC aims to redirect Tu-214 productionfor commercial use and gradually increase output from 10 to 20 per year to address the capacity gap.

Russia has been grappling with a significant capacity gap, which emerged for its airlines due to Western sanctions imposed on the country in 2022 as a response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
