In a society where peer pressure reigns supreme, we often fail to realize the serious toxicity in which peer pressure could bring. It's imperceptibly killing your proactivity and stealing your own pursuit. How do we transform this toxicity into a positive power that inspires us to keep going? Let's have a look, from a 15- year-old perspective.

“Be resilient, be proactive.” As the 2021 full scholarship winner, a leader of the school’s poverty relief project, and NSDA campus ambassador, this 15-year-old girl at Nanwai King’s College School always serves this as her greatest motto. Her incredible enthusiasm in original oratory has helped her win the national champion in 2021’s TOC tournament following by tons of awards in NSDA. Who knows that behind these glorious achievements, she had suffered years from the “toxic pressure “and was even once unable to get rid of depression? In her speech, Olivia’s going to talk about how the small-fish-big-pond effect blocks her way of self-pursuit and how we can transform the toxic pressure brought by it into something benign. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
