Gigafactory Texas on 4 August 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!

The rains have gone away, the site has dried up and its a busy morning across the site! As much work as we see on the outside going on, there is an equal amount going on inside as well, continuing to ramp up for the first production of test Model Y’s (used for testing equipment, processes, and calibration as well as training of employees).

In this video, we also discuss recent articles about Piedmont Lithium delays and how this may impact Tesla and Giga Texas going forward.

Here are the highlights from today's video:
- Steel assembly is underway in the central area (growing south) and the structure is now longer than about 585 feet (or about 178 meters)
- In the “alleyway” area between the paint shop and battery cell structures, the steel assembly continues, and the structure is now about 270 feet (~82 meters) long and continuing to grow to the north.
- The south end of the General Assembly structure is also growing with more steel this morning, with very few areas left before reaching the south perimeter grade beam.
- Roofing steel mesh being applied on the casting structure and the battery cell structure is getting more cementitious roofing sprayed over insulation on the north end.
- We see many more newly produced Model Y castings near the truck loading door of the casting machine structure. It was hard to tell if these were both front and rear castings, but with the known plan to begin producing test Model Y vehicles, it is likely both are being produced.
- We see that many more exterior wall panels have been installed on the west side of the battery cell structure, now covering about 75% of the west exterior wall area, with active work to add more panels this morning.
- On both the west and east sides, there is paving & preparation for paving for roads and parking spaces along the exterior wall area of the main factory structure.
- On the southwest part of the General Assembly structure, large sections of the steel structure third floor is getting concrete floor pours! About a half-dozen concrete trucks were staged and waiting to link up with the two pump trucks to move the concrete into the structure.
- Finally, looks like a lot of interior work is going on in the paint, battery cell, Body-in-White and north part of the General Assembly structures. Some of this activity is visible where exterior walls have not yet been installed.
