We're big fans of Hyundai's electric cars, but even we would admit that the company has been a bit hamstrung by not having a bespoke EV and fashionable styling. That's changed with the Ioniq 5.

It's based on a brand new platform that's been built purely for EVs, so there's none of the downsides which you find with some other electric cars when it comes to space and efficiency. And then there's the styling – it's all very 80s with its sharp creases and parametric lights.

It has a range of nearly 300 miles (some versions) and has 800V charging so it's on the money in terms of usability. But is it all form and no function? Ginny Buckley finds out
