In this talk, JD shares his life's journey into his positive mindset. JD is a resident monk at ISKCON UK's headquarters, Bhaktivedanta Manor. He is currently Vice President of the College of Vedic Studies which is an educational institution that aims to help people be more conscious about their wellbeing and improve on various levels such as physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, through the medium of courses, workshops and retreats. He plays an integral role in developing and facilitating the courses using Vedantic Focused Therapy (VFT) - a concept which uses ancient eastern wisdom to develop tools and techniques to enhance the quality of life in the modern age. JD grew up in the London suburbs and graduated from King's College London with a BEng in Telecommunications in 2007. He has taught many sessions at top UK universities including Cambridge, UCL, Queen Mary's and Kings College, encouraging university students to think about life from a holistic perspective. As a qualified yoga and meditation teacher, he organises and facilitates retreats internationally, encouraging participants to make small lifestyle changes that can benefit them both externally and internally. He has recently started a charity for cancer patients and those suffering from mental illnesses where he raises money to hold workshops and retreats on yoga and meditation. Through using magic and illusion, he helps people understand their minds better and strengthen their minds to overcome challenges. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
