Yet another car of which I have collected much material in these years but I never uploaded a fully dedicated video. The 488 GTE is Ferrari's race cars for the GTE class which is used in WEC, ELMS and IMSA SportsCar Championship where the class is called GTLM. It was unveiled in 2016 together with its fraternal twin for the GT3 class (customers can simply convert their 488 GT3s into GTE-specs with a separate, yet expensive kit, that's why they look so similar).

In 2018 both the GT3 and the GTE received some upgrades through an 'Evo kit' mainly focused on aero and body design, changes that are easily visible when compared to the old 2016 cars without the kit. If you're a bit lazy, I give you a simple yet (almost) infallible method I learned by dint of seeing them: the 488 GTEs (both Evos and 2016 specs) ofter produce very loud and sharp bangs while upshifting, instead the GT3s always have the same, changeless deep sound. I honestly get scared quite often since they're not making those backfires everytime. Some examples are at 0:24, 1:04, 3:44, 4:40, 7:37, 8:31
