Saint Patrick’s Lorica is a prayer, for divine protection, also known as St Patrick’s Breastplate, it’s a prayer shield, to guard the heart, like a shield worn in battle.
It’s an invocation to the One God, the God of all the elements, the God of all Creation, the Blessed Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
It is said that St Patrick taught the Irish people about the Trinity using the little Shamrock, one leaf with three parts, to explain One God, yet three divine persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the Trinity.
