On March 26, 2019 Diane C. Bailey of EMERGE Natural Beauty Alliance partnered with the NYC Commission on Human Rights and The Center for Law & Social Justice to hold a discussion of the latest guidance that states race discrimination based on hair is illegal!

The first panel features Lurie Daniel Favors of the Center for Law & Social Justice and Brittny-Jade Saunders Saunders, Deputy Commissioner of Strategic Initiative for NYC Commission of Human Rights who explicitly lay out the ways in which residents of NYC are protected and how they can file complaints if they believe they have been discriminated against. They also discuss the many ways anti-Blackness can affect the economic realities of men and women around the country and how those who live outside of NYC can advocate for themselves to secure legal protections under the law.
