Fellow Swifties, the time has come. I've held off on saying too much about this topic, but as a black woman and new Swiftie, we were always going to get here eventually.
I want to have an honest, positive conversation about race and how it affects Taylor's - and other artists - success. If you know me at all or have followed my journey to becoming a Swiftie on TikTok, you know I love Taylor. So you don't have to worry - there will be no bashing of this queen in this video. But we also won't be shying away from, what I believe, is an important conversation about identity and how people's perceptions impact an artist's trajectory.
My goal in making this video is simply to start the conversation - and I would love for you to join in. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
