Rebuilding an FA20 Subaru BRZ / Scion FRS Engine. The engine originally had a rod knock and because of this, we replaced the whole short block. Along with the short block we also replaced the timing cover (oil pump) and cam sprockets. The reason behind this is because when the engine has a rod knock, it is likely that bearing material may have contaminated or damaged this components and should be replaced. For the cylinder heads we had them resurfaced and performed a valve job. After doing all necessary adjustments, the engine was running as if it were brand new from the factory.
