Don't get me wrong - this Mercedes-Benz A 220 is a well-executed vehicle. It's got a cool interior, a great infotainment setup, good safety tech, and a sharp exterior. It just isn't worth anywhere near its $48,000 asking price. It gets average fuel economy, it isn't fast, it doesn't drive itself, it isn't electric, it can't carry more than two people comfortably, it's got a tiny trunk, it offers next to no utility, and it can't go off-road. Why would you pay nearly $50k for it then when for the same price or less you can choose from a whole slew of new vehicles that offer at least two of those things? Mercedes thinks its three-point star emblem is reason enough.
