What happens if you don't have enough solar power while off grid? We use a generator to get us through the cloudy and stormy stretches in the winter. Usually this means passing the generator power through the inverter to the loads. But, there is another way. This is a review of the new 100 Amp charger from Signature Solar. They call it the Chargeverter.

The Chargeverter-5000 is a 5kW AC charger that can recharge most 48V batteries up to 100 Amps. It has a built-in circuit breaker on the battery side, DC. The AC cord comes pre-wired with a NEMA L14-30 plug. Most generators that have 120/240V will have this style outlet on them.

In the video I'm using a Honda EU6500 inverter generator running on gasoline. However, this charger can use almost any generator because it can be set to the maximum Amps. The AC input will also work with 120V. If you want to set this up as 120V, then you will probably want to change an adaptor to a 120V plug.

If you decide to make a purchase from Signature Solar, please consider using one of my affiliate links below. That won't cost you any more, but it does help out the channel.
