Wishing you all a Merry Christmas.

X-Men: Fear the Beast was a proposed film by writer Byron Burton, one of the composers for X-Men Apocalypse. The film would have been set in the eighties between the events of X-Men: Apocalypse and X-Men Dark Phoenix, and would have focused on the character Beast played by Nicholas Hoult.

Burton actually wrote a whole script for the film which you can read here: https://archive.org/details/x-men-fea.... The film would have had a horror theme and was compared to John Carpenter's film The Thing. It would have involved a village being threatened by a monster called the Wendigo.

The script was shown to Burton's superior John Ottman, the composer for many of the X-Men films who tried to get Fox to make the film, but producer Simon Kinberg refused to read it and it was thus never made.

In the film Hank McCoy (Beast ) has been in contact with a fellow scientist named Dr. Paul Cartier who lives in Alaska and has been suffering from a beatial mutation similar to his own. Hank has provided Cartier with the same drug his uses to keep his own mutation in check to help Cartier control his mutations.

Hank receives a message from Cartier indicating something has gone very wrong.

Hank heads to Cartier's home in Alaska to find that a strange monster refered to as the Wendigo has been terrifying the local village. With the aid of an inuit woman named Ahnah, Hank discovers that Cartier has given in to his beastial side and deliverately mutated himself into the Wendigo. Hank would then be forced to stop the Wendigo.

At the climax, Beast would take a drug that would enhaunce his own mutation and transform into a giant furry beast referred to as Mega-Beast in order to battle both Wendigo and a group of angry villagers who blame the Wendigo on the inuit woman Ahnah.

The film also would see the return of Wolverine who would be telepathically summoned by Xavier to come and aid Beast in the film battle.

In the script the Wendigo is Bruce Banner if he gave up. He has been struggling with his monster side for a long time and now would rather give in and accept it rather than fight against it. The script describes the characters as "James Spader in a lab coat." So I decided to cast Jame Spader in the role.

For Ahnah I cast actress Roseanne Supernault, mostly for her role in the inuit themed film Maina.
