An end of season cast on the Sixmile Water River in Co Antrim (N Ireland) can be full of surprises. You never truly know what you will catch, could it be one of the large indigenous Dollaghan brown trout, maybe a salmon.. or if you are very lucky both! Join me on one such afternoon in October 2022, a typical autumn day of gales, sheets of rain, brief glimpses of sun and some autumn gold.
