But anyway...let me try to explain the story {it's exactly how it happened in the anime}
Rewind a few years and Kouta and Lucy {then her name was Kaede}, meet each other. She falls in love with him, and then he goes to a fair with his cousin, whom he says is a boy, but actually the super dooper annoying Yuka. When she's him there, she goes on the train {which ironically is only her, Kouta, Kanae, and Kouta and Kanae's father...I wonder why only they're on the train nobody else...plot hole?} where they are. She calls him a liar, and kills Kanae and their father. Then fast forward eight years...Kouta remembers.
