There has been confusion and criticism over Japan's warning of a possible terror attack in the region. Japan had issued a security advisory to its citizens in Southeast Asia, asking those in the Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia to stay away from places of worship and crowded spaces. It cited intelligence that there could be possible attacks on such places, where large groups gather. Many of the countries mentioned in the security advisory said there are no indications of any imminent threat.
