This song has been passed from generation to generation and it's our rendition of a traditional Portuguese folk song called "Cantiga Bailada". Comes from the Beira-Baixa region and it's part of a genre called "cantigas de amigo", literally "friend song", is a genre of medieval lyric poetry. It's about love and joy.
