10 MOST UNUSUAL KIDS IN THE WORLD

Every child has unique character traits that make them special, but the children you’re going to see on
this episode are unlike any other children you’ve seen before.
Most of these kids were born with peculiar conditions that make them…different. And living in a world
that expects conformity, they are oftentimes the victims of peer rejection, loneliness, and frustration
due to their unique conditions and unusual appearances.
But their strength of mind despite having a rather difficult start at life is cause for great admiration.
Hello dear viewer and welcome to yet another interesting episode of 100M, where we’ll share the
bittersweet stories of the most amazing kids in the world.
You’re going to need a tissue for number 3.

#10. Ben Underwood
The late Ben Underwood was a superhero in his own right. He was a unique blind boy who could see
without his eyes.
His was a touching story of resilience, determination, and hope. A tale that’ll change how we perceive
the obstacles in our lives.
Born a happy and healthy baby, Ben was diagnosed with retinoblastoma cancer in both his eyes at the
tender age of two years. A year later, he went completely blind and after a series of unsuccessful
radiation and chemotherapy sessions, he underwent surgery to have his eyes removed.
Without any hopes of ever regaining his sight, an optimistic seven-year-old Ben taught himself how to
use his voice to perceive the world around him. Somehow, while at summer camp, the determined little
Ben discovered that he was able to identify the objects surrounding him whenever he produced a
clicking sound with his tongue.
He was the first human to use echolocation to perceive his environment, and with this unique gift, Ben
was able to live a full and active life…until his passing at the age of seventeen when his cancer came
back.

#9. Madden Humphreys
Being born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate, as well as different colored eyes --a condition known as
heterochromia iridum-- Madden Humphreys, from Oklahoma, was often the pick of bullies who teased
him for looking different.

His family grew concerned since Madden had always been happy despite his unusual condition but
suddenly started growing sad and lonely when his peers started bullying him. Until one day, something
remarkable happened. The kid stumbled upon a photo of a rescue cat named Moon which looked
exactly like him.
It was one thing that both Madden and Moon to have the same rare eye condition, but for both of them
to have a cleft lip as well, now that was a truly remarkable coincidence.
The family managed to adopt Moon and the two took to each other right away. It may sound silly but
the two were meant to be together.

#8. Muin Bachonaev
When Muin Bachonaev was born, there was nothing that you could say was special about the child.
Growing up, however, his eyelashes started growing abnormally long.
Doctors said that the genes responsible for his eyelash growth worked differently. But, while this was
unusual, experts stated that there was no need for alarm and that Muin did not have to take special care
of his extraordinarily long lashes – if he was comfortable having them that way.
By his teenage years, his eyelashes had grown to almost two inches long, nearly touching his lips. The
youngster was even listed in the Russian Book of Records for having the longest eyelashes in the
country.

#7. Lalit Patidar
Have you ever heard of the ‘werewolf syndrome’?
Medically, "werewolf syndrome," is known as hypertrichosis. It is an unusual condition characterized by
the excess production of hair, either on one specific part of the body –especially the face and arms-- or
throughout the body.
There are fewer than a hundred cases of the rare and curious condition documented worldwide. And
the rare hormonal condition would not have gained notoriety had it not been for the videos and images
of an Indian boy called Lalit Patidar who was born with abnormal amounts of hair all over his body.
Growing up was never easy for the boy dubbed ‘the real-life werewolf’. At school, he would have to deal
with cruel bullies who had gotten into the habit of teasing and throwing stones at him for being
different as a result of the crippling condition.
Despite all that, Lalit Patidar lived a normal, happy life. And even though there is no cure for his unique
medical condition, he remains hopeful for the future.
