How to operate the 2019 911 Speedster's Top!
The Speedster is virtually a manual GT3 convertible, the ultimate 911 for Southern California!

👉 Launched in 1955, Porsche used the 356 as the Speedsters starting point. Offered in 1.5 and 1.6 Litre engine were less expensive than there brothers the 356 Cabriolet, who would have though the Speedsters would be more valuable today.

With only 3676 produced between 1955 and 1958. In 1989 Porsche decided to revive the Speedster with the 911 G-Body in 1989.

This variant was offered in two different bodies the standard 911 body or the wider Turbo look. With this iteration of Speedster only 1894 were produced, significantly less than its older bother from the 50's. In 1994 Porsche rebased a 964 variant for a single year and produced fewer than 1000 units world wide.

✅ Perhaps the rarest Speedster was the 993, producing only 2 units. One went to the Porsche designed "Butzi" in a dark green and the other going to Jerry Seinfeld in a silver. Another Speedster would not come until the 997.2 generation 911 with only 356 produced paying homage to the first Speedsters.
This brings us to today the 2019 Speedster sporting a 4.0 Litre naturally aspirated engine only offered in manual transmission, with only 1948 units being made. 💯

👉 The reasoning behind 1948 was this was the year the "first" car to bear the Porsche name was built dubbed no. 1.
