Born in 1909, Dr Martin Lings, also known as Shaykh Abu Bakr Siraj ad-Din, was a man whose saintly radiance touched the lives of all who looked to him for guidance. As a young man, he embraced Islam and entered deeply into its spirit. In 1948, he undertook the most sacred journey in Islam: the pilgrimage to Mecca.
