Jeep may release the much anticipated Jeep Gladiator 4xe in the near future. Here is what you need to know.

In order to keep up with the trends toward a sustainable future, Jeep has shifted its focus to all-electric. Jeep unveiled concepts of some possible EVs that could be released to the market in the upcoming years. So far, Jeep has released two plug-in hybrid electric vehicles with the Wrangler 4xe and the Grand Cherokee 4xe. Since electric motors have been added alongside its internal combustion engine, the battery-powered motors provide instantaneous torque and traction making the four-wheel-drive performance the best it has ever been. However, many Jeep fans are wondering when the infamous Gladiator will get electrified like the others. While Jeep has been teasing its release for quite some time, it may be mass-produced sooner than expected.

Earlier this year, Jeep and its fans gathered for the 57th annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah to show off its new concept vehicles for the upcoming years. Aligning with Jeep's promises for an electrified future, three of the seven concepts were plug-in hybrids and one was fully electric. One of the concepts was a modified Jeep Gladiator, teasing at the possibility of a Gladiator 4xe soon. Jeep has already launched two successful hybrids, one being the infamous Wrangler model. Starting at $54,735, the hybrid gets an impressive 49 MPG compared to its usual 22 MPG from its ICE models. The hybrid powertrain puts out 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of instantaneous torque.
