Why do Royal Enfield think that the Meteor 350 is their most overlooked bike and what surprises could this little bike be hiding?

There was only one way to find out, so we starting off at the day at the iconic Sid's Café in Holmfirth, where the BBC comedy "The Last of the Summer Wine' was filmed. Then heading over Hope Moss to Hadfield and through Royston Vasey (aka Hadfield) where the BBC filmed their hit comedy "The League of Gentlemen". From there, the conditions took a turn for the worse and pushed the bike to it's limits on the ride over to Winnats Pass and the steepest road in Derbyshire.

Along the way I discuss the history of the British motorcycle industry, Royal Enfield and how India saved the company from an inevitable decline.

Deciding to gear up in some retro kit that would compliment the bike perfectly might not have been the best idea considering the weather that we faced. Surprisingly though, RST's Crosby jacket with it's built in SinAqua weatherproofing and removable thermal liner, kept me warm and dry throughout. That's more than can be said for than the RST Straight leg 2 jeans, which although they were comfortable and offered great protection, they were most definitely not waterproof. The RST Waterproof Hi-Top Sneakers and Atlas gloves performed implacably and kept my extremities warm and dry.

All of the kit in this video is available from any of our MyMoto stores -

We are extremely grateful of Royal Enfield for lending us this bike to test ride and hopefully our video shows what it is capable of.
