There was a comment left on the video linked above that I thought was good and brought up a good point. The main takeaway is that everyone's retirement situation is going to be different...basing your retirement income as a percentage of your current net income isn't the only way to do it, nor is it the best way to do it in some cases. It is just a general guideline that a good portion of the population will fall into.

You may only need 20% of your current income in retirement, or you may need 80%...the important thing is you need to have a plan heading into retirement, and realize that you may need to adjust some things depending on your income level.
