Many recreational players around the world try to adapt the straight arm forehand. One of the reasons is that it's used by both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. So logically players see this technique as the optimal way to strike a forehand. However, my research has shown that there is a reason why this technique is rare among the best tennis players in the world. It can only work if this style is there from day one. In other words, it has to be intuitively adapted by the player just like my student Karla who I featured in today's lesson.
