We are still living through the world’s worst pandemic; we are experiencing increasing security impacts from climate change, especially around emergencies caused by extreme weather events; our political fabric is being tested by those who espouse extremist views and are prepared to protest in ways that harm our economy and democracy; the rules-based international order is being threatened by the Russian invasion of Ukraine; international actors are increasingly threatening our security through disinformation, influence campaigns and cyberattacks. The need for a coordinated approach within Canada is more important than ever before.
