Hi, welcome to Electric Car Australia and a discussion on the poor design of current EV Charging Stations here in Australia, including a specific example at a small charge station at Tenterfield in northern NSW. Being an EV owner and driver myself I use this EV charge station as a practical example of how EV charging infrastructure is currently being built with a lack of thought going into the design and layout of the charge station positioning and the overall carparks themselves.

I also provide some options and solutions on how these EV charger locations could be significantly improved for EV drivers, including that growing number of EV owners who are now towing with their electric cars. No-one wants, or should have too, uncouple or disconnect their trailer just to charge their EV. Petrol and diesel vehicles owners would be outraged if this was required at service stations and refuelling sites and we should now be looking to add this convenience to most EV charging stations.
