"Surah Al-Fil" is the 105th chapter of the Quran. The name "Al-Fil" translates to "The Elephant" in English. This surah is very short, consisting of only 5 verses.



"Surah Al-Fil" recounts a historical event related to an incident that occurred before the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the year of his birth, which is known as the "Year of the Elephant." In this event, an army led by Abraha, the governor of Yemen, attempted to destroy the Kaaba in Mecca with an army that included an elephant. However, Allah intervened miraculously, sending a flock of birds that pelted the invaders with stones, causing them to be defeated and abandoning their mission.


The surah briefly mentions this incident and serves as a reminder of the miraculous protection of the Kaaba and the sanctity of Mecca. It also underscores the power and protection of Allah.
