Thanksgiving is a composition written and recorded by George Winston in 1982 for his December album. Thanksgiving was said to be inspired by "friends and places of Miles City, Montana."

I had the privilege to meet George Winston on two separate occasions. To hold his hand felt like a blessing, as the music from those very hands had a profound effect on the trajectory of my musical influence.

Georg Winston passed away June 4, 2023 following a decades-long battle with cancer. He was 73 years of age. His pastoral music will live on, him being recognized as one of the first "stars" of New Age music.
