War is an ugly thing. Even when committed in the name of self-defense, the consequences of hatred, violence, and destruction are horrific. Nowhere is this better represented than the works of Japanese film icon Hayao Miyazaki. Namely, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, and The Wind Rises. As we’ll explore in this episode of Out of Frame, war can turn us into monsters – if we let it.
