There's a company in Austria called Obrist that is developing quite an innovative series hybrid system that it eventually wants to sell to established automakers as a patent. Obrist has chosen Tesla Model 3s to test its hybrid system (although its next-gen Hyper Hybrid will be based on a Model Y) and Andrei was given the chance to drive one of these prototypes while he was attending IAA 2021 in Munich.

Before he got to drive the car, he interviewed Obrist's marketing and communication boss, Throsten Rixmann, who added a lot more context and explanations before the drive itself. Do also check out the written article published on InsideEVs, linked below, the first of several articles about this unusual hybird whose proponents seemed very convinced it is a superior solution to fully-electric vehicles, at least right now.
