Train So Close To Apartment That It Hits A Chair! As Needed Railroad Spur With Infrequent Train, Indiana & Ohio Railway! Indiana Train & Train Drops The Signal Over The Railroad Bridge, green Baltimore & Ohio Railroad signal goes to red. Trains on the bridge are in Ohio.
The first train is a grain train on an ancient railroad line that uses 1917 light pound rail on the main track! The train was taking 2 loads of grain to the customer at the end of active track near West Harrison, Indiana. It has been a couple of years since I have filmed this ex Pennsylvania Railroad line. I keep coming here and coming up dry but not this time! Right when I got to Valley Junction near the Ohio/Indiana border, I heard a train on the radio. I heard the train on 160.545 say that they were leaving Valley Junction and heading north on the Brookville Branch. I had just passed Valley Junction seconds ago so I got them at a private crossing just north of Rt50 near Cleves, Ohio. I chased the train about 8 miles up the line to West Harrison, Indiana. That is where it hit a chair that was set out for the trash. There are very few trains on this line so I guess the tenants in the apartment building didn't expect it. The other regular customer on this line ships gravel but I am told that it usually runs at night. I don't know how I can film that one. I would like too though.
Then I went over to the Winton Place area just north of the Cincinnati Queensgate Yard. You see a big Norfolk Southern grain train pass the historic signals and they drop from green to red. I want to film that as much as possible while the old B&O signals are still up.
Next we catch an Indiana & Ohio Railway train running south with an Ohio Central locomotive. That was a great catch. They use the CSX tracks here while the line to West Harrison, Indiana is an Indiana & Ohio Railway line. The line along the Ohio River that parallels CSX is a Central Railroad Of Indiana line. Same people though.
The rest of the trains in this video are seen crossing the bridge over Mill Creek. Best frequencies at Winton Place are 160.230 for CSX and 160.980 for Norfolk Southern. 160.440 is a Norfolk Southern frequency that is used on the New Castle Sub just a short distance north of here. 161.385 is an I&O frequency for Cincinnati area.
