I bought a dual zone fridge/freezer for this years Mojave desert trip because I didn't want to take a 77qt cooler and deal with ice and the water that it creates. After looking at domestic brands a realizing that they didn't fit my budget, I found what is probably the cheapest 59qt dual zone fridge/freezer with a battery option.
The battery is optional and 150 bucks extra. Even still, at around 450 dollars all in, I figured what could go wrong?
Well, things went wrong. I was concerned that I might be screwed by buying a product direct from the land of cheap stuff. However they stood behind it and sent the necessary part to get the fridge back up and running. But did they do it in time for the trip? You'll just have to watch and see.
