Nothing can prepare you for war. When conflict broke out in Ukraine, Liana immediately rushed her children to safety outside of the country. But that was only the beginning. Determined to support Ukrainians in need, Liana made the difficult decision to separate from her family and return to Ukraine to support critical humanitarian relief efforts. Today, Liana leads CORE’s dedicated team in Ukraine working 24/7 to find ways to alleviate suffering and provide critical support to Ukrainians in country.

“We are being attacked. We are being killed. We are being forced to flee from our homes and we are still standing.” she says.
