The unfortunate downside to Austin is that prices are significantly higher to purchase a home than any of the other metroplexes.

Houston is the only city out of these with close proximity to the Texas coast. Housing affordability here is very good. There are tons of things to do in both the city and suburbs here. It is a big sports and food city.

Dallas TX & Fort Worth are both very nice cities with tons of great job opportunities and are experiencing tons of growth. Dallas is arguably the cleanest of the 4 cities. It has a more luxurious upscale vibe to it. It has some amazing family oriented suburbs located very close to downtown.

San Antonio is home to the Alamo. With a picturesque hill country setting, San Antonio is the smallest of the 4 cities. Housing affordability is very good here. It is the home of many military members and the San Antonio Spurs.
