Nottingham - at the cutting edge of life sciences

Science Minister Andrew Griffith MP visited the University of Nottingham recently as part of announcing investments into dementia research and Engineering Biology.

University of Nottingham spin-out company Cerca Magnetics has been awarded £2m as part of £45 million government investment in the UK's quantum sector for wearable brain imaging research to help detect early signs of dementia.

The GlycoCell Engineering Biology Mission Hub will receive £12.3 million in funding as part of an overall investment of £100m from UKRI’s Technology Missions Fund and UKRI and BBSRC’s core budgets.
