Compostable containers are everywhere these days, with the promise that they are eco-friendly and good for the planet. Many manufacturers of these containers claim they will decompose naturally after a certain period of time. Do they really, or is it just marketing hype?

To test their claims I did an experiment on a container manufactured by World Centric made of "compostable plant fiber". It "turns to soil in 90 days" according to the claim on the container.
