Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was an incredible disappointment for all Star Wars fans, displeasing both those who hoped to see a continuation of The Last Jedi's themes as well as those who wanted an entirely new path forward. The central issue was the number of questions that remained at the end of the film: what was Palpatine's plan and how did he survive the destruction of the Death Star? How did Maz Kanata get Anakin's lightsaber? Why did Rey have such incredible powers, including the ability to expertly pilot the Millennium Falcon?

Thankfully we have Pablo Hidalgo's new book, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary. This coffee table tome promises all sorts of answers to our many questions... but doesn't actually provide any of them? Actually it's just full of hilarious retcons.
